30.reflection paragraph on sources
I was fairly sucessful with my sources, although i didnt find a direct answer as to why the book was banned. The most biased source would have to bo yahoo.com its basically comments people post instead of actual facts. The most trustworthy source would have to be sparknotes, it gives the chapters reviews and a whole book overview. It's made up of everything that is need to know what the book is about. It's a very helpful source.

28. Relfection on findings and process
During my book i learned a lot about censorship and banning of books. I really didn't understand how book were banned or why. I had never really read a banned book until now. I didn't realize the content that some book contained. It surprised me that authors would write such things is book. The most interesting thing I learned is that almost anyone can challenge a book. The easiest part of the project was making up questions to be answered throughout the project. The most difficult part was finding controversial passages. If I could do it over again, I would do it as quickly as possible instead of procrastinating
27. finding paragraph 3
The last of my questions about the books and banned was what are the standards for a book to be banned. There really are no specific standards, it basically depends on who it was to challenge the book. It depends on how persuasive they are with their reasoning for challenging the book.
26. finding paragraph 2
another one of my questions was who is in cotrol of banning books. I found out that multiple groups review newly published book to see if they are fit for the public and perhaps school. Some books may be banned from school but open to public. It all depends on who reviews it and what the book contains.
25. finding paragraph 1
One of my search questions for this book was, why was it banned? I didn't get a direct answer. I couldnt findout why it was banned. Based off of what I did find and what I read ,profanity and sexual content is why it was banned.

22. Quote caption citation
Censorship, the suppression of words, images, or ideas that are "offensive."
Paraphrase: Censorship is when individuals have words images or ideas that are approved by publishers that shouldn't be according to the readers. Sometimes publishers don't things as being very offensive until the readers/viewers create complaints. Once complaints are made others tend to join in until ultimately the book/quote/ image etc is banned or censored.

21. groups that have banned the book and citation
Its is not stated who banned the book, only that it was banned in Boston. I couldn't find and groups or individuals that have banned this book.
20.Message passage 2.
"We all ought to make sacrifices for literature. Look at me. I'm going to England without a protest. All for literature."
I think this is a message to people who are interested in literature or writing. It's saying that he wasn't really prepared but he continued for literature. It's sort of like a motivation to those who are interested in writing, saying even if you don't think you're ready you should at least try. I think it also links back because he is a writer himself.

19. Message Passage one
“I can’t stand it to think my life is going so fast and I'm not really living it." “Nobody ever lives their life all the way up except bull-fighters.
I think this quotes shows some of what Ernest Hemmingway thinks due to his own personal experiences. He's trying to help others realize this and it is a powerful message. It's saying that your don't really live your life unless you are living it like a bull fighter. In other words life is full of risks that sometimes lead to great experiences. I think this shows that he regrets not doing so things while he had the chance.

17. Controversial Passage 3
The whole book is about the relationship between Jake and Brett. The reason they aren't together is she is unwilling to give up her sexlife. The fact that sex plays suvh a major part in this book is part of why the book was banned. This added on the the profanity bring alot of controversy.
I personally think that profanity was most of why this novel was banned. The whole general plot of sec being the only reason she doesnt have a relationship with Jake just makes it that much worse. It's mainly about that fact that she does'nt want to give it up.

16. controversial passage 2
""well what will you drink?" I asked"- ""pernod"" ""that;s not good for little girls."" ""little girl like yourself. Dites Garcon, Un pernod"" ""a pernod for me, too" ""what's the matter?" she asked" ""going on a party?"" ""sure. Aren't you?"" ""I don't know, you never know in this town"" ""don't you like Paris?"" ""no"" ""why don't you go somewhere else?"" ""isn't anywhere else."" ""you're happy alright."" ""Happy, hell!""
There is a continued use of profanity in this use. It has more profanity than any other book i have persona;;y ever read. The language almost comes completely naturally to the characters.

15. Controversial passage 1, explaination and citation
“Oh, Jake,” Brett said, “we could have had such a damned good time together.”
Ahead was a mounted policeman in khaki directing traffic. He raised his baton. The car slowed suddenly pressing Brett against me.
“Yes,” I said. “Isn’t it pretty to think so?”
One of the main reason this book was banned is due to the language. There is alot of profanity in the book. In almost every other paragraph there is a use of profanity. The characters use the language excessively.
