9. Describe your book.

The main character, Jakes Barnes, is in a relationship with Brett Ashley, a woman who treated a wound he received during the war. This wound left him impotent. Later, Brett left him because she was unwilling to give up her sexlife. She then began a relationship with Mike Campbell who she plans to marry.

         Jake meets Brett at a hotel room one night alone in Madrid. She tells him she wants to leave Madrid. They got train tickets to leave. On the train, Brett realizes she still has feelings for Jake. She tells him they could have had a wonderful time together. Jake responds saying "yes, isn't it pretty to think so?" They both go their seperate ways.
